All the ingredients for an epic competition

SmokeSlam is organized by Mempho Presents, a group with deep roots in Memphis, music and barbecue. Teams from all over the country will compete for over $250,000, the largest prize in BBQ history. Bring your empty belly and your whole family to historic Tom Lee Park for a fully inclusive and interactive experience celebrating the craft and culture of our legendary BBQ, as well as music, art, and all things Memphis.

Dessert

Whole Hog, Ribs, and Pulled Pork category prizes are awarded across ten places per category, totaling $150,000 in prize money. The grand prize in the MBN Pork competition will be $50,000 for the winning team.

Duck, Bacon, Beef, Wings, Poultry, Seafood, and Dessert category prizes are awarded across ten places per category, totaling $40,000 in prize money. Sanctioned by the World Food Championships; each category winner will also get a Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships.

  • Bacon, Wings, Dessert, Poultry, Beef, Duck, and Seafood:

    • 1st Place: $1500 + Golden Ticket

    • 2nd Place: $1250

    • 3rd Place: $1000

    • 4th Place: $750

    • 5th Place: $500

    • 6th-10th Place: SmokeSlam Medal

    Refer to the WFC Rules which must be adhered to for competition.

  • Whole Hog, Pulled Pork, and Ribs:

    • 1st Place: $15,000 + Golden Ticket

    • 2nd Place: $12,500

    • 3rd Place: $10,000

    • 4th Place: $7,500

    • 5th Place: $5,000

    • 6th-10th Place: SmokeSlam Medal

    Refer to the MBN Rules which BOTH Standard and On-Site must be adhered to for competition.

  • SmokeSlam WJBL Grand Champion: $5,000

    Chicken, Ribs, Pork, Brisket:

    • 1st Place: $2,500 

    • 2nd Place: $1,500 

    • 3rd Place: $1,000 

    • 4th Place: SmokeSlam Medal

Team Booths, Vendors & Rentals

Booths will be available in Tom Lee Park on the river, and for those who prefer street access, there will be booths available on Riverside Drive.

  • Small booth (26’x30’): $3,000

  • Large booth (34’x54’): $5,000

  • Space rental includes area size, (2) 20amp electrical services, (1) Porta John, Saturday Competition Fees, MBN Admin fee of $15, (20) 24-hour wristbands, (15) Team Member Wristbands with designated Team entrance wristbands

  • Available for additional cost: scaffolding, tents, flooring, additional power and Porta Johns
